MULTAN, Jun 16 (APP):Regional Police Officer (RPO) Multan, Captain (Retired) Muhammad Sohail Chaudhry, rejected appeals of four police officials against their dismissal from service after finding allegations against them to be true.
Presiding over an Orderly Room session to hear appeals filed by police officers and personnel on Monday, the RPO rejected appeals of ASI Muhammad Irshad, head constable Sajid Amir, and constables Adeel Ahmed and Hamza Haider, upholding the decision of their dismissal from service.
However, Muhammad Ahmed and Muhammad Saqib, who had also challenged their dismissal, were reinstated to their posts, with a penalty of one-year increment stoppage.
Similarly, head constables Sajjad Hussain and Zafar Iqbal, who were earlier demoted, were restored to their original rank of Assistant Sub Inspector with a one-year increment stoppage as a disciplinary measure.
RPO Sohail Chaudhry emphasized that a transparent and uniform accountability process is being ensured within the police department, which has contributed to boosting the morale of the force.
He further directed that police officers and personnel from the Multan region, whose appeals are still pending submission, should file these immediately so that timely decisions can be made.
