RPO Rawalpindi holds Open Court at Chontra Police Station
RAWALPINDI, Aug 24 (APP):Regional Police Officer (RPO) Rawalpindi Babar Sarfraz Alpa held an open court at Chontra Police Station and directed swift resolution of public complaints.
SP Saddar Division, SDPO Chontra Circle and other relevant police officials were also present on the occasion.
RPO Babar Sarfraz Alpa listened to the complaints in detail and directed the concerned officers to take immediate, transparent and impartial action in accordance with the law.
He ordered that all complaints be resolved on merit within the stipulated timeframe and that detailed reports be submitted to his office.
The RPO directed officers to ensure that investigations into pending cases were completed strictly on the basis of merit and evidence.
“Resolving citizens’ problems at their doorstep is a top priority of Rawalpindi Region Police.
Open courts are an effective means of strengthening communication and trust between the public and police,” the RPO said.
He instructed police officials to treat citizens visiting police stations with courtesy, dignity and respect, and stressed that complainants should not be made to shuttle unnecessarily from one office to another.
Alpa warned that negligence, unnecessary delays or any lapse in addressing public grievances would not be tolerated and directed officers to use all available resources to ensure timely justice.
Later, the RPO inspected Chontra Police Station, reviewing the front desk, lock-up, moharrir office, official records, malkhana and other facilities.
He directed officers to ensure timely completion and maintenance of police records, improve the quality of investigations, dispose of pending cases within the prescribed period and maintain cleanliness and discipline at the station.
The RPO said the prime responsibility of the police force was to serve the public and protect their lives and property. He directed all officers and personnel to perform their duties with honesty, dedication and professionalism.
He also emphasized that public trust must be given the highest priority and that indiscriminate action should be taken in accordance with the law to ensure its supremacy.
