LAHORE, Oct 24 (APP):Regional Police Officer (RPO) Dera Ghazi Khan Cap. (retd) Sajjad Hassan Khan paid a visit to District Layyah on Friday to review police performance and address citizens’ grievances.
According to police spokesman, accompanied by District Police Officer (DPO) Layyah Muhammad Ali Waseem, the RPO held open courts at Basti Jaisal and Family Park Layyah, which were attended by a large number of citizens, traders, lawyers, media representatives, and members of civil society. He listened to public complaints on the spot and issued immediate directions for their resolution on merit.
RPO Sajjad Hassan said that, under the chief minister’s open-door policy, open courts are being organised to ensure quick redressal of public grievances at their doorstep. He warned that negligence or delay in resolving citizens’ issues would not be tolerated and urged the public to assist police by identifying drug dealers and criminal elements to promote peace and security in society.
The RPO also paid surprise visits to police stations Kot Sultan, City and Saddar, Layyah to inspect investigation standards, arrest of proclaimed offenders, implementation of SOPs, and front desk performance.
Later, he inaugurated renovation works at the DPO Office, Khidmat Markaz, and Traffic Complex, besides laying the foundation stone for the new Investigation Block Layyah.
He directed officers to maintain strict vigilance on criminal elements, enhance patrolling, and strengthen policing through modern technology. Appreciating DPO Layyah Muhammad Ali Waseem’s performance, he commended his efforts for public facilitation.
During meetings with the Peace Committee, Anjuman Tajiran, and local lawyers, the RPO emphasised fostering religious harmony, mutual respect, and community cooperation for sustainable peace and development.
