RAWALPINDI, Dec 16 (APP): Regional Police Officer (RPO) Rawalpindi Babar Sarfraz Alpa on Tuesday honoured Inspector Erum Khan for her stellar performance at the World Powerlifting Championship 2025 in Sri Lanka, calling her a shining example for youth, particularly women, showing that determination, courage and commitment can achieve success at the global level.
A Rawalpindi Police spokesman said Inspector Erum Khan brought international acclaim to Pakistan and the Rawalpindi Police by winning two gold medals — one in powerlifting and another in the deadlift category — defeating a strong competitor from India in the process.
RPO Alpa invited her to the Regional Police Office, congratulated her on the achievement, and presented the gold medals, praising her dedication, hard work and perseverance.
He said her success was a matter of pride for the Rawalpindi Police and the nation, adding that sports were vital for physical fitness and that encouragement of athletes within the police force would continue.
