RAWALPINDI, Nov 21 (APP):Regional Police Officer (RPO) Rawalpindi, Babar Sarfraz Alpa, on Friday held an open court at the Sadiqabad Police Station and later inspected three police stations in the city to review public facilitation, record management and investigation standards, a spokesman for the RPO Office said.
During the open court, attended by citizens and officers, residents submitted applications directly to the RPO. Alpa reviewed each complaint and issued immediate instructions, directing that all applications be processed strictly under the law, with transparent, merit-based action and reports submitted within the prescribed time.
He said open courts at the police station level were an important step in providing justice at the citizens’ doorstep, adding that addressing grievances promptly and ensuring timely relief were core policing duties.
Alpa later visited Sadiqabad, New Town and Banni police stations, inspecting the buildings, lock-ups, armouries, muharrar offices, investigation rooms, residential barracks and record sections. He also reviewed front-desk services, online records, daily registers, ongoing investigations and personnel discipline.
He directed that police station records be kept accurate and updated, warned against any illegal detention, and stressed the immediate arrest of nominated and wanted suspects. Investigations, he said, must be conducted strictly on merit.
The RPO instructed officers to treat citizens with respect, ensure timely hearing of complaints, and maintain cleanliness, discipline and public convenience in police stations. He added that protecting citizens’ lives, property and rights was the foremost duty of the police.
He concluded by ordering strict compliance with his directions and warned that negligence or laxity would lead to disciplinary action.
