Role of traders essential for stabilizing economic of country: Governor

QUETTA, Jul 29 (APP):Governor Balochistan Jaffar Khan Mandokhel on Tuesday said that the key role of traders and industrialists is essential for stabilizing the economic system of the country and the province, promoting economic activities and providing employment to the people.
He said that it is very important to establish “Balochistan Bank” in our province of Balochistan on the model of other provinces of the country.
He expressed these views while talking to a delegation led by President of Quetta Chamber of Commerce and Industry Muhammad Ayub Mariani.
The Governor said that while formulating new policies related to import and export, including the opinions of traders and industrialists of our province and ensuring the representation of the Quetta Chamber of Commerce and Industry in all other relevant committees would yield positive results.
He said that the current government is committed to providing complete protection to all national and international investors and providing facilities and amenities to its traders and industrialists.
The Governor said that Pakistan’s economic development and prosperity are linked to Balochistan saying that it could be said with certainty that by establishing border markets at different places in Balochistan and promoting border trade, unemployment and poverty would be eliminated in the entire province.
“Establishing border markets at different places on both borders such as Panjgur-Sarawan, Turbat-Pishin and Taftan-Marjawa will increase economic and trade activities immensely and provide vast employment opportunities”, he said.
He said that Balochistan has long borders with Afghanistan and Iran, we could not ignore our traders and industrialists in any way regarding the eradication of poverty, unemployment and backwardness on both sides of the border, promoting border trade also strengthens the trade centers and industries of Punjab and Sindh.
The Governor said that in addition, by strengthening border trade, Pakistan’s relations with its two neighboring countries, Afghanistan and Iran would become more pleasant and relations of love and friendship could be maintained at the public level as well.
The delegation of Quetta Chamber of Commerce and Industry informed the Governor of Balochistan about the difficulties and issues being faced by the traders, industrialists and businessmen across the province and said that traders, industrialists and businessmen across the province are facing various difficulties, as a result of which 17,000 members of the business community have left for other provinces and 4,000 for other countries, which is having a negative impact overall.
The delegation, while presenting its demands, said that the borders of Sardasht Chaman, Noshki and Qamaruddin Zhob should be opened immediately, taxes to be brought to single digits, concrete steps would be taken for the provision of cheap electricity, and we should be taken into confidence while formulating a new policy.
The Governor of Balochistan listened to their problems carefully and assured them of all possible cooperation.
He said that large-scale mutual understanding is necessary to create facilities and new opportunities for the business community, we could create a bright economic future with joint efforts and consultation.
