MULTAN, Dec 30 (APP): A ceremony was held at the Multan Tax Bar Association (MTBA) on Tuesday to bring on record the merger of its two groups, with speakers reaffirming their commitment to strengthen the association through unity.
Addressing the ceremony, the speakers said the Multan Tax Bar Association, which has been functioning as an institution for the last 50 years, would once again be developed as a strong and effective body through collective efforts of all members. They stressed that unity among tax practitioners was essential to protect their professional rights.
The speakers maintained that disunity in the past had weakened the association.
The participants pledged to set aside their differences and work together for the betterment of the association and its members. They also thanked those who played a key role behind the scenes in facilitating the merger, stating that the reunification would enable the association to focus on professional training and capacity building.
The ceremony was jointly conducted by stage secretaries Imran Nawaz Khan and Muhammad Rizwan.
Those who addressed the gathering included Tallat Javed, Muhammad Younas Ghazi, Khalid Asad Chaudhry, Niaz Ahmad Khan, Abdul Sattar, Khadim Hussain Maitla, Shabbir Fakhruddin, Chaudhry Shahid Saleem, Waqas Khalid, Imran Ghazi, Muhammad Rafiq, Mian Khalid Hussain, Chaudhry Muhammad Jameel and Akram Khan.
Senior members Chaudhry Tanveer Shehzad, Anwar Khalid, Rana Muhammad Imran, Muhammad Junaid Shah, Kanwar Tanveer Anjum and Furqan Ahmad Khan were acknowledged for their role in the merger.
Former presidents of the High Court Bar Association Mehboob Ahmed Sheikh and Syed Riaz-ul-Hassan Gilani attended the ceremony as special guests.
