RAWALPINDI, Jul 14 (APP):Rawalpindi Institute of Cardiology (RIC) Administration has suspended the services of an employee amid social media reports complaining about ECG services at the hospital’s emergency department. RIC constituted an inquiry committee and issued a statement on the culmination of the inquiry mentioning the suspension of the service of Shoaib Rasheed, a Helper/Honorary staffer for his misconduct.
“In response to a recent complaint circulating on social media regarding ECG services in the Emergency Department, the hospital administration constituted an inquiry committee to thoroughly investigate the matter. The detailed report has been submitted to the relevant higher authorities”, reads the statement.
The statement unveils that the complaint was found to be partially baseless, but the behavior and conduct of Shoaib Rasheed, as recorded in the video reported, did not meet the professional standards required in a patient care environment.
Based on the inquiry committee’s recommendations and to ensure discipline and high-quality patient care within the institution, Shoaib Rasheed’s honorary work permission has been suspended with immediate effect until further notice.
The hospital further clarified that the Emergency Department at RIC primarily receives critically ill patients requiring immediate and life-saving medical attention. The department handles 750 to 1,000 patients daily, making it essential to manage patient flow efficiently. Therefore, patients who are not in critical condition are kindly requested to wait their turn in an orderly manner, and their attendants are also urged to cooperate to ensure timely and effective treatment for all patients.
