Revenue officer arrested red-handed for taking bribe
MUZAFFARGARH, Jun 28 (APP):Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE), Layyah, arrested a revenue officer
red-handed while allegedly accepting a bribe.
According to ACE sources, Circle Officer Anti-Corruption Inspector Muhammad
Ramzan arrested the officer, Moazzam Ali, during a raid conducted under the
supervision of a judicial magistrate in Layyah.
Complainant, Ghulam Farid, a resident of Chak No. TDA-149, alleged that he
had already paid Rs40,000 to the accused official in connection with the distribution
of fodder, while another Rs10,000 was paid in the presence of the magistrate
as part of the trap operation.
The Anti-Corruption team recovered the marked currency notes from the accused
and arrested him on the spot.
The accused was sent to the police lock-up, while further investigation was underway
