PESHAWAR, Jul 25 (APP):On the special directives of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, it has been decided to launch a comprehensive restoration and renovation project for the historic Islamia College Peshawar to revive its architectural beauty and historical significance.
This decision was made following a meeting chaired by Commissioner Peshawar Division Riaz Khan Mehsud here on Friday.
The meeting was attended by the Vice Chancellor of the University of Peshawar, Member of National Assembly Arbab Sher Ali, Deputy Commissioner Peshawar, officials from the Peshawar Development Authority (PDA), and the Project Director of the Peshawar Uplift Program.
The move follows the CM’s recent visit to the renovated Agricultural Institute, where he expressed satisfaction over its preservation and instructed Commissioner Mehsud to replicate a similar effort for Islamia College.
During the meeting, a comprehensive plan was formulated to restore the historical structure and preserve its cultural legacy.
It was agreed that the PC-1 (project proposal) would be prepared immediately, and practical work on the project would begin without delay.
Commissioner Riaz Mehsud, along with project engineers, is scheduled to visit Islamia College next week to conduct a detailed inspection and finalize the implementation strategy.
The project is part of the provincial government’s broader vision to preserve and revitalize heritage sites across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
