FAISALABAD, Jul 17 (APP):Punjab Emergency Service (Rescue 1122) has deployed over 800 rescuers on high alert to deal with any emergency on Youm-e-Ashur in Faisalabad.
Rescue 1122 spokesman said here on Wednesday that Rescue 1122 had rescued 284 people during the last 24 hours who received injuries while committing self-flagellation in different mourning processions in Faisalabad.
As many as 265 self-flagellators were provided first aid while 19 others were shifted to hospital due to their critical condition, he added.
He further said that the rescuers were using 37 rescue 1122 ambulances, 23 private ambulances, 116 motorbike ambulances, and 26 firefighting vehicles to provide cover to the mourning processions and majalis.
In this connection, 67 temporary pickets were established across the district where rescue teams were alert to perform their duties with determination and professionalism. The people could contact these teams through emergency number 1122 in case of any need, he added.
