QUETTA, Oct 20 (APP):Several villages were affected by the earthquake that struck different areas of Barkhan this morning, On directives of Provincial Minister for PHE Sardar Abdul Rehman Khetran, the district administration immediately sent rescue and relief teams to nearby villages including Union Council Baghao and Rurkan in supervision of Deputy Commissioner Barkhan Abdullah Khosa.
Relief items including Tents, blankets, rations and first aid supplies have been sent with these teams so that immediate relief can be provided to the affected families.
While the district administration is assessing the damage in the affected areas and the process of shifting the local population to safer places is also underway.
He said that the victims are being shifted to temporary shelters where provision of drinking water, food and medical facilities is being ensured.
Provincial Minister Sardar Abdul Rehman Khetran has directed the relevant institutions not to leave any affected person alone and to ensure immediate help to the victims by utilizing all resources.
He said that the government of Balochistan stands with the people of Balochistan and all possible assistance would be provided in this hour of difficulty.
Sardar Abdul Rehman Khetran has directed the PDMA officials to immediately visit the affected areas of Barkhan, conduct a detailed assessment of the damages and ensure comprehensive rehabilitation measures.
He said that mutual cooperation between the administration and the people in the event of natural disasters is the guarantee of early rehabilitation of the affected areas.
