Rescue 1122 staff set example by returning over Rs6.2m to rightful owners

RAWALPINDI, Dec 01 (APP): Rescue 1122 personnel from the Gujar Khan station have set a notable example of integrity by returning more than Rs 6.2 million in cash along with valuables to their rightful owners after a traffic accident.
Rescue 1122 Rawalpindi Spokesman Muhammad Usman stated on Monday that an ambulance and medical teams rushed to Guliana Mor, Gujar Khan, a few days ago after receiving information about a serious traffic accident. A car had hit a footpath for unknown reasons, leaving two men critically injured and semi-conscious.
He said the Rescue 1122 staff provided immediate medical aid with professional skill, stabilized the injured and shifted them to hospital. During the operation, the rescuers found Rs6,216,550 in cash, three mobile phones and a wallet, which they secured and deposited at the station.
According to the spokesman, the details were shared with the In-charge of the Tehsil Rescue Station, RSO Owais Saeed, who promptly contacted the victims’ family, and they reached Gujar Khan from Swat the next day. After verification, all cash and belongings were handed back to the rightful owners.
The family expressed deep gratitude for the honesty and sense of duty shown by the Rescue 1122 staff, saying such discipline and ethical conduct were vital for sustaining public trust.
District Emergency Officer Rawalpindi, Engineer Sibghat Ullah, commended the staff for their exemplary act, noting that integrity and public service were the hallmarks of Rescue 1122. He also announced commendation certificates for the personnel involved.
