MULTAN, Jun 03 (APP):Rescue 1122 Multan demonstrated outstanding performance by responding to 10,821 emergencies and providing assistance to 11,028 individuals during May 2025.
According to District Emergency Officer Dr Hussain Mian, the average response time remained under seven minutes, reflecting the department’s commitment to quick and efficient service.
The emergency cases handled in May included 2,527 road traffic accidents, 6,720 medical emergencies such as cardiac arrests, respiratory problems, and gynecological complications. Additionally, the department responded to 159 fire incidents, 313 violence-related cases, 14 incidents of structural collapse, and three drowning cases.
Out of the total number of affected individuals, 4,275 were shifted to different hospitals for treatment, while 6,335 were provided with on-site medical assistance. Sadly, 437 people were found dead at the scene in various emergencies. Furthermore, 579 critical patients were transferred from one hospital to another to ensure they received advanced care.
Rescue 1122 Multan also extended its services to animals in distress, saving 31 animals and offering them medical care, further showcasing the department’s compassion and dedication.
Dr Hussain Mian highlighted that the safety of life and property remains the top priority of Rescue 1122. He said the teams are available round the clock and are fully committed to responding promptly to all emergency calls. However, he also raised concern over the high number of unnecessary calls. Out of 52,005 calls received in May, only 10,821 were genuine emergencies. He urged the public to call 1122 only in real emergency situations, as prank or irrelevant calls can disrupt the system and delay assistance to those in actual need.
The public has been advised to strictly follow traffic laws, avoid overspeeding and wrong-way driving, and always wear helmets while riding motorcycles to prevent accidents.
Dr Hussain Mian concluded by stating Rescue 1122 is dedicated to building a safer and more responsible society, and that the cooperation of the public is essential in achieving this goal.
