Rescue 1122 provided first aid to 596 mourners, shifted 9 to hospital on Ashura day

RAWALPINDI, Jul 18 (APP):Punjab Emergency Service Rescue 1122 remained on high alert during Ashura Day in Rawalpindi, provided first aid to 596 mourners, and shifted 9 injured to hospitals.
Special duties were assigned to rescue stations and the holidays of the rescuers were canceled.
Spokesman 1122, Usman Gujjar informed that timely medical assistance was provided to the injured mourners of the processions from the Old Imam Bargah Hussaini Irania, Imam Bargah Qasr e Sajjad, Imam Bargah Qaser e Abbas, Imam Bargah Qasr e Hussain, Imam Bargah Darbar e Hussaini, Imam Bargah Old Kahota and the main Imam Bargah Gujarkhan.
The paramedical staff of Rescue 1122 accompanied the mourners all the time. Along with medical cover to the Ashura processions, Emergency Rescue Service 1122 also responded promptly to general emergencies.
District Emergency Officer Engr. Sibghatullah said that the rescuers are working on a mission of saving precious human lives and creating a safe society by reducing the suffering of the victims.
Advance preparedness and safety measures to deal with emergencies and protect lives and property not only reduce the impact of accidents and tragedies but also help deal with accidents in an organized and professional manner, he said.
