RAWALPINDI, Jan 03 (APP): The Rescue 1122 Murree has issued a safety advisory for tourists and local residents on Saturday, urging them to take precautionary measures amid severe cold weather conditions.
According to the advisory, citizens are advised to avoid the continuous use of heaters during the night, as it can be dangerous. Running heaters inside closed vehicles may cause suffocation and pose serious risks to life. In case of extreme cold, heaters should be used intermittently and with proper ventilation.
The Rescue officials also warned the motorists to avoid over speeding at night, as roads may become slippery, increasing the risk of accidents. Violations of one-way traffic rules during nighttime further raise the chances of serious mishaps. Tourists were advised to avoid unnecessary travel at night, especially during snowfall.
The advisory further recommends that those traveling at night should carry warm clothing, blankets, and dry food items to cope with emergencies. In case of any emergency, citizens have been urged to immediately dial Rescue Helpline 1122.
A spokesperson said that Rescue 1122 Murree teams remained alert and fully operational in the field round the clock to ensure public safety. The citizens were requested to stay updated about weather conditions, especially during nighttime.
“Rescue 1122 Murree is always ready to serve the public, day and night,” the spokesperson added.
