RAWALPINDI, Nov 08 (APP): Rescue 1122 Murree on Saturday issued a safety advisory for citizens using gas heaters during the winter, warning that neglecting precautions can be life-threatening.
Rescue 1122 urged the residents to ensure proper ventilation by keeping doors or windows slightly open and using exhaust fans where possible.
Only approved and quality-certified heaters should be used, kept at least three feet away from flammable items, and never left unattended, especially while sleeping or leaving the room.
Citizens were also advised to install carbon monoxide and smoke detectors in homes and hotels to identify potential hazards early. These detectors should be regularly checked to ensure they function properly.
Rescue 1122 stressed that care and responsibility during winter are essential to prevent accidents and protect lives.
