SIALKOT, Dec 26 (APP): Rescue 1122 Sialkot conducted a mock emergency preparedness drill at the Central Rescue Station to assess readiness for handling various emergency situations.
According to a Rescue 1122 spokesperson, the exercise was held on the special directives of Secretary Emergency Services Dr Rizwan Naseer and under the leadership of District Emergency Officer Engineer Naveed Iqbal. All tehsils of Sialkot participated with rescuers and station in-charges.
The drill simulated multiple emergencies, including fire incidents, road traffic accidents, building collapse, rescue from heights and deep pits, drowning cases, and rapid shifting of injured persons to hospitals.
Ten rescue squads, each comprising nine rescuers, demonstrated practical rescue operations. While a Red Code was enforced in the district during the exercise
Rescue and Safety Officers from Gujrat, Hafizabad, Narowal and Mandi Bahauddin evaluated the performance, while Rescue Scouts also participated under District Warden Jameel Janjua.
