RAWALPINDI, Nov 16 (APP): The Punjab Emergency Service Rescue 1122 is fully geared up and operational to handle emergencies during the winter and snowy season in Murree, officials said on Sunday.
On the directives of Secretary, Emergency Services Punjab, Dr Rizwan Naseer (Sitara-e-Imtiaz), Regional Emergency Officer Dr Faisal Mahmood reviewed the operational readiness of Rescue 1122 stations in Murree. The inspection covered the 17-Mile Station, Chahrha Pani Station, Central Station, the Control Room, and the Medicine Store.
The review focused on the emergency core plan designed to ensure timely services during snowfall and extreme cold. Ambulances, fire tenders, rescue motorbike units, special rescue vehicles, the control room, and all Rescue 1122 stations in the district were assessed for capacity and staff performance.
Incharge Emergency Officer Murree, Engineer Zeeshan Hafeez, briefed that special arrangements had been completed to provide prompt rescue services to residents and tourists. The Rescue 1122 control room will operate 24/7, with trained staff deployed at all tourist facilitation centres.
Dr Mahmood advised citizens to have their vehicles thoroughly checked before visiting tourist spots. He urged drivers to park in safe locations during emergencies and exercise caution while driving in hilly areas, strictly following traffic laws and administrative instructions.
He lauded the overall performance of Rescue 1122 Murree and expressed confidence that personnel would continue their mission of public service with dedication and commitment.
“The Rescue 1122 Murree remains actively engaged in ensuring a safe society throughout the winter season,” the officials said.
