Rescue 1122 finalizes emergency measures for rains

GUJRAT, Jul 22 (APP):Rescue 1122 has finalized emergency preparedness measures across the district in view of ongoing monsoon rains and potential flood threats.
District Emergency Officer (DEO) Umar Akbar Ghuman said that rescue teams have been placed on high alert in flood-prone and low-lying areas along the River Chenab, River Jhelum, and River Tawi.
All operational sectors have been activated and equipped with trained personnel and modern rescue tools. The deployment plan includes flood-prone Sector 1, Surrakhpur (River Tawi), Sector 2, Kot Ghulam (River Chenab)Sector 3, Sama (River Chenab) Sector 4, Kot Nathu (River Chenab) and Sector 5, Khadriyal (River Jhelum).
According to the DEO, teams are ready to respond promptly in case of any flood emergency.
Meanwhile, the district administration has imposed Section 144, banning swimming and unnecessary movement near rivers, canals, and other hazardous locations. Violators will face legal action, officials warned.
