Record number of complaints received, majority disposed off by Provincial Ombudsman in 2025

PESHAWAR, Feb 09 (APP): Provincial Ombudsman, Mutahir Zeb has said that the secretariat is set up to ensure good governance and rule of law in the province.
“Our commitment is to provide speedy justice to the complainants which is impartial, fair and equitable,” he added.
This he said while giving details of year 2025 achievements and performance of sectetariat staff during a meeting held here on Monday.
Provincial Mohtasib Mutahir while highlighting the importance of disposal of cases said that during last year we received 8300 complaints against various departments and the secretariat staff successfully disposed of 4200 cases.
The important issue is that mostly complaints were lodged against Health department, Higher Education, Local Government, Irrigation, Universities and other government departments.
Provincial Ombudsman said that our staff responsibility is to provide justice to the complainants without succumbing to any pressure and all cases be disposed off in speculating period as per Ombudsman act.
He further said that provincial government has established the institute for the common citizens to ensure inexpensive justice on expeditiously manners. It is our responsibility to take cases of aggrieved persons to resolve them on merit.
The ombudsman directed to prepare list of pending cases, non-implementation cases to decide such matters on priority.
The ombudsman also eulogised the role of Administrator section and participation of senior staff in seminars and workshops. Such participation will give exposure to the staff and also enhance capacity building.
He showed satisfaction over increase in number of fresh registration cases during the current year and said that it will be a challenge for investigation officers and advisers to deal them carefully and take it on merit.
