RDMC supports Chagai Youth Participation in National Young Leaders Conference

QUETTA, Dec 15 (APP):Reko Diq Mining Company (RDMC) has supported the participation of 20 young leaders from District Chagai in the Young Leaders Conference (YLC), a national-level leadership forum organized by the School of Leadership (SoL).
The annual conference brings together youth from across Pakistan to foster leadership skills, dialogue, and personal growth.
The participants an equal cohort of 10 young men and 10 young women were selected independently by the YLC team through a rigorous merit-based process evaluating motivation, commitment, and leadership potential.
Representing diverse communities across Chagai, they embody the district’s vibrant future.
The Young Leaders Conference officially commenced today in Karachi.
Before departing for Karachi to attend the conference, the participants visited the Reko Diq Project site in Chagai.
During the visit, they met with Ryan Mitchell, General Manager of Reko Diq Mining Company, along with members of the senior management and community relations team.
Addressing the young leaders, he emphasized that the Young Leaders Conference is not merely an event, but a transformative opportunity to discover personal potential and define future aspirations.
He highlighted that the participants were representing the strength, culture, and future of Chagai, and encouraged them to see themselves as ambassadors of their communities.
He urged them to engage confidently with peers from across Pakistan, to share their stories, ask questions, and learn from diverse perspectives.
Following the meeting, the participants toured key areas of the Reko Diq Project site, including the Geology Core Shed and Laboratory.
Senior Geologist Mr. Habib-ur-Rehman Kubdani briefed them on the Tethyan Belt, regional geology, and the mineral resources of Reko Diq and the wider Chagai region.
 The participants were also introduced to geological cores and the processes of core cutting, grinding, and sample preparation for international-standard testing.
The participants expressed appreciation for the opportunity to visit the site and gain insight into the project’s technical and scientific aspects.
This initiative reflects RDMC’s ongoing commitment to community engagement and youth empowerment.
The program was recommended by the Community Development Committees (CDCs) who play a vital role in guiding the project’s social investment planning.
