RAWALPINDI, Jan 06 (APP):The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) will establish a modern, multi-storey hospital equipped with state-of-the-art medical facilities in Sherpao Colony, Director General RDA Kinza Murtaza said on Tuesday, warning that encroachments on government land will not be tolerated.
During a visit to Sherpao Colony, the DG issued directives to the Metropolitan Planning and Traffic Engineering Directorate and the Estate Management Directorate to take immediate and concrete steps for constructing the hospital on four kanals of RDA-owned government land.
She also ordered the immediate removal of encroachments in the area and directed officials to issue legal notices to those responsible without delay.
Inspecting the site of the Sunday Bazaar in Sherpao Colony, the DG RDA instructed concerned officers to undertake beautification measures, including the installation of tuff tiles, improvement of pedestrian pathways and provision of adequate parking facilities to facilitate shoppers and traders.
Kinza said indiscriminate operations against encroachments would continue across the city, adding that illegal occupation of government land would not be allowed under any circumstances. She urged citizens to comply with the law, cooperate with authorities and refrain from illegal construction and encroachments.
She said coordinated and sustainable measures were being implemented to protect the city’s aesthetics, ensure planned development and improve civic facilities.
The RDA, she added, was utilising all available resources to make Rawalpindi a clean, safe, well-organised and citizen-friendly city, and no negligence or laxity would be tolerated.
