RDA seals illegally constructed commercial building in private housing scheme

RAWALPINDI, Oct 23 (APP):The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA), in its ongoing drive against illegal constructions, sealed an illegally constructed commercial building, three residential rooms and two security guard rooms in the area of Bahria Town
Phase-VII Rawalpindi.
According to the RDA spokesman, on the directions of the Director General, Kinza Murtaza, the RDA enforcement squad carried out the operation in accordance with the Punjab Development of Cities Act 1976 and the RDA Building and Zoning Regulations 2021, which the property owner had violated by constructing buildings without obtaining the necessary approvals and No Objection Certificates (NOCs).
He said that the DG RDA, Kinza Murtaza, had directed the LU&BC Wing to take strict action against encroachments and illegal commercial activities without any fear or favour.
The DG had also directed the Building Control Wing to survey fees for approval of illegal residential and commercial buildings, commercialisation, complementary maps, plans of buildings, and regularise all illegal residential cum commercial buildings in the controlled area of RDA.
RDA is committed to ensuring the proper development and regulation of our city.” We urge the general public to take moral responsibility and actively work to remove any encroachments to avoid future losses.”
The operation was conducted by Assistant Director Town Planning Muhammad Daud, Building Surveyor Aamir Mahmood Malik, along with the other RDA enforcement staff.
