RAWALPINDI, Jul 24 (APP):Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA), in its ongoing drive against illegal properties, sealed 11 properties here on Thursday.

According to an RDA spokesperson, on the directions of the Director General (DG), RDA, Kinza Murtaza, the enforcement squad sealed the head office of an illegal housing scheme, Golden City, Mouza Mohri Khatrain, five properties on the Bank of Nullah Dhamyal Kalyal and five shops on Adyala Road, Mouza Jarahi.

The sponsor of the Golden City Scheme was involved in illegal advertisement through social media for booking of plots without obtaining the mandatory No Objection Certificates (NOCs) from RDA, a clear violation of the Punjab Development of Cities Act 1976 and the Punjab Private Housing Schemes and Land Subdivision Rules 2021.
Despite prior notice, the sponsor failed to comply with RDA directives, prompting enforcement action.
The DG RDA, Kinza Murtaza, reaffirmed RDA’s unwavering commitment to enforcing planning regulations.

She said that the actions follow direct instructions from Chief Minister of Punjab, Maryam Nawaz Sharif, who has mandated a zero-tolerance policy on encroachments, illegal developments, advertisements and constructions.
She also urged the public to act responsibly by avoiding investment in unapproved housing schemes and encouraged them to verify the legal status of any project with the RDA before making financial commitments.

For verification and updates regarding approved housing schemes, the general public is advised to contact RDA or visit the official website www.rda.gop.pk.
