RD Ombudsman holds open Katchahry

HYDERABAD, Dec 16 (APP): Regional Director (RD), Mohtasib (Ombudsman), Shaheed Benazirabad, Khan Muhammad Zardari, held an open Katchahry in village Noor Ahmed Jalbani, where practical measurements were taken to resolve a land dispute filed by Ms Savera.
On the occasion, Regional Director informed that Ms Savera had lodged a complaint regarding inheritance property, requesting legal transfer of property left by her late husband, comprising agricultural land, a shop, and a brick kiln in her name and in the names of her children. As a result of effective intervention of Ombudsman’s office, all inherited properties were duly transferred to the complainant and her children in accordance with their legal shares.
During the open Katchahry, the Regional Director handed over possession of property to Ms Savera and, with her consent and complete satisfaction, recovered lease compensation from the lessee amounting to Rs. 120,000 for the agricultural land, which includes 2 acres and 8 ghuntas and Rs. 150,000 for the brick kiln, which was paid to the complainant on the spot. In this manner, the complaint was fully redressed.
Regional Director also briefed participants about the powers, jurisdiction, and role of the Ombudsman institution, and provided a detailed overview of the procedure for filing complaints against maladministration.
He assured public that all genuine complaints would be resolved strictly in accordance with the law, emphasizing that Ombudsman is an independent and effective forum for the protection of citizens’ rights and improvement of public services, where citizens can submit written complaints in cases of non-performance by government departments.
On the occasion, the complainant, Ms. Sovera, expressed her gratitude to Provincial Ombudsman Sindh and Regional Director Khan Muhammad Zardari for the restoration of her late husband’s property.
