RCB intensifies anti-encroachment drive

RAWALPINDI, May 29 (APP): The Rawalpindi Cantonment Board (RCB) has intensified its mega anti-encroachment operations on a daily basis in key areas, including Saddar, to clear illegal occupations.
RCB Spokesman informed APP that so far, the enforcement cell has removed 28 encroachments, impounded 24 trucks loads and issued 26 fines as part of the drive.
The operation is being carried out in three shifts—morning, afternoon, and evening—to maximize efficiency. Major areas under focus during the drive include Saddar, Ademjee Road, Haider Road, Canning Road, Gowalmandi, Kashmir Bazaar, Saadi Road, Kamran Market, Molvi Muhammad Hussain Road, and Railway Road.
In addition to the regular encroachment removals, motorcycles parked illegally, causing hurdles for pedestrians and traffic, have also been confiscated.
Supervision of the operation is being handled by Arshad Khan, Additional CEO RCB who is directly monitoring progress on daily basis.
An RCB spokesperson further said that the campaign aims to eliminate illegal encroachments, reduce traffic congestion, and restore public pathways.
“The crackdown remains ongoing, with further operations expected in the coming days”, he said.
