RAWALPINDI, Dec 17 (APP): Federal Parliamentary Secretary for Information and Broadcasting Barrister Daniyal Chaudhry, while extending heartfelt Christmas greetings to the Christian community, announced on Wednesday that the government would establish a modern hospital here for the Christian community to ensure access to quality and advanced healthcare services.
He said minorities were an integral part of Pakistan and enjoyed equal rights as citizens.
Barrister Daniyal was speaking at a special Christmas event organised here by the Municipal Labour Union.
The event was attended by former mayor of Rawalpindi Sardar Naseem, Member of the National Assembly Malik Abrar Ahmed, Members of the Punjab Assembly Ziaullah Shah and Raja Hanif Advocate, Haji Parvez, Pirzada Rahat Qadousi, Javed Mughal, Raja Haroon and Pastor Shahid Raza, along with a large number of corporation employees.
During the event, speakers extended warm Christmas greetings to the Christian community and highlighted the spirit of brotherhood and tolerance in Pakistan, where people of all faiths live together in harmony.
They also acknowledged the Christian community’s contributions to the country’s progress and prosperity, describing them as enduring and valuable.
Municipal Labour Union President Raja Haroon and General Secretary Pastor Shahid Raza thanked Barrister Daniyal for the announcement, terming it a significant step towards improving healthcare facilities for the Christian community.
The event concluded with the cutting of a Christmas cake, followed by special prayers for peace, development and prosperity in the country.
