RAWALPINDI, Oct 29 (APP):Health Authority in Rawalpindi reported 30 new dengue cases during the past 24 hours, making the year’s total of 1,294. No deaths have been recorded so far, but 41 patients remain admitted in different hospitals.
The District Health Authority’s latest update released on Wednesday shows that 19,801 suspected cases have been screened since January. 1,359 vector control teams have inspected 4,694 houses and 3,632 potential breeding sites, where they uave found larvae in 1,895 homes and destroyed over 11 million of them across 4,694 positive spots.
Simultaneously the enforcement has led to registering 4,694 FIRs, the sealing of 1,895 properties, 3,632 challans issued and fines over Rs 11.1 million for violations of anti-dengue protocols.
The fresh cases emerged mainly in urban and peri-urban areas. Potohar Town recorded eight infections, followed by seven in the Municipal Corporation area and six in Potohar Rural. Rawalpindi Cantonment had five whereas Chaklala Cantonment three and Taxila Cantonment reported one case in the past 24 hours.
The spokesman health authority , Dr. Waqar urged the residents to remove standing water and use protective measures to help contain the spread during the peak season.
Dr. Waqar confirmed APP that the issue of negligent staff under strict monitoring.
“We are implementing zero tolerance against those staffers found negligent in discharging their duties”, Dr. Waqar said.
To a question, he reiterated that strict actions will be taken if health staffers are found absent from their duties.
