RAWALPINDI, Feb 12 (APP):The Rawalpindi Police on Thursday said no incident of motorcycle or car theft/snatching was reported in the city during the past 24 hours, attributing the development to sustained, intelligence-led policing under the command of City Police Officer (CPO) Syed Khalid Mahmood Hamdani.
According to a police spokesman, the force has maintained effective control over motorcycle and vehicle theft through a coordinated and systematic strategy pursued over the past three years.
He said that during 2023, 2024 and 2025, the incidence of bike and car theft registered a gradual and consistent decline owing to comprehensive planning, intelligence-based crackdowns and effective follow-up investigations.
The spokesman added that targeted operations, use of modern technology, human intelligence and surveillance monitoring, coupled with professional investigation, helped dismantle organised bike and vehicle theft gangs and bring the crime rate down to zero level.
He said proactive patrolling, swift response and indiscriminate legal action against offenders had become the hallmark of Rawalpindi Police.
Urging citizens to play their part, he advised them to adopt precautionary measures, including the use of steering and wheel locks, and ensuring secure parking of their vehicles. He also appealed to the public to report any suspicious activity or individuals immediately on Police Helpline 15.
The Rawalpindi Police, he added, remained committed to eliminating crime through effective operational strategies, modern policing and strengthened community partnership.
