RAWALPINDI, Feb 06 (APP): The Rawalpindi Police on Friday went on high alert in view of the prevailing security situation following a bomb blast at a mosque in Islamabad that resulted in multiple casualties.
City Police Officer (CPO) Syed Khalid Mahmood Hamdani directed that the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Operations, SPs, Sub-Divisional Police Officers (SDPOs), and station house officers (SHOs) remain active in the field. “All high police officers are supervising security arrangements across the city,” a police spokesman said.
Security duties at Imambargahs, mosques, and other worship and public places were being extensively checked, while the police officers also held meetings with local officials and administration to review security standard operating procedures and ongoing measures, he added.
