RAWALPINDI, Nov 18 (APP): The Rawalpindi Police carried out extensive search operations across several localities under the National Action Plan (NAP), checking more than 1,800 individuals and premises on the directives of City Police Officer (CPO) Syed Khalid Hamdani.
A police spokesperson said teams inspected 1,039 houses, 721 shops and 25 hotels, verifying the identity details of 1,870 people.
During the checking, 43 Afghan nationals residing illegally were taken into custody.
The police also inspected a brick kiln, a bus and truck stand, and verified tenant records in the covered areas. Officials registered 31 cases against individuals who failed to document their tenancy information as required.
The operations were conducted in the jurisdictions of Naseerabad, Cantt, Wah Saddar Morgah, Westridge, Race Course, Pirwadhai, Ganjmandi, City, Waris Khan, Banni, New Town, Sadiqabad, Ratta Amral, Dhamial, Chauntra, Kallar Syedan, Rawat, Saddar Beruni, Kahuta, Gujar Khan and Jatli.
The spokesperson said the activity was part of ongoing NAP measures to maintain public order, deter criminal activity and ensure compliance with identification and tenancy regulations. They added that all available resources were being utilised to uphold the law and safeguard peace across the district.
