DERA ISMAIL KHAN, Feb 23 (APP): The district administration is taking effective steps to ensure availability of edible items at affordable prices during the holy month of Ramazan.
As part of efforts, Assistant Commissioner Syed Arslan, District Food Controller Aman Khan, the deputy tehsildar, and officials from the department of agriculture visited the district’s main vegetable market at Ratta Kulachi early in the morning to monitor the bidding process.
During the auction, the bidding process was conducted with complete transparency, and an official price list was issued on the spot after reviewing price fixation.
Traders, wholesalers, and shopkeepers were strictly instructed to provide high-quality vegetables and fruits to the consumers according to the prescribed government rates, failing which legal action would be taken.
The visiting officials reiterated their commitment to providing quality food items to the citizens and maintaining price stability at all times.
The inspection also included a detailed review of the overall cleanliness of the market.
The staff was instructed to enhance sanitation measures and ensure timely disposal of waste to maintain a clean and healthy environment.
Practical steps were also taken to manage traffic and crowd movement due to heavy footfall, ensuring that buyers and traders face no inconvenience.
