PESHAWAR, Oct 13 (APP):A key meeting regarding the restoration and repair of the Hazara Motorway, and in compliance with the directives of the Peshawar High Court, was held under the chairmanship of Commissioner Hazara Division, Fayaz Ali Shah, at the Commissioner’s Office, Abbottabad, on Monday.
The General Manager of the National Highway Authority (CPEC Burhan) gave a detailed briefing on the ongoing repair work across various sections of the motorway. He informed the meeting that repair work is in progress at five major locations, three of which have already been completed, while work at the remaining two sites is being carried out on a fast track.
Addressing the meeting, Commissioner Fayaz Ali Shah stated that certain sections of the motorway still suffer from road depressions, sinkholes, bumps, and potholes, all of which require immediate attention to ensure safe, comfortable, and high-quality travel facilities for the public.
He directed that all affected areas of the motorway be thoroughly inspected and repair work be completed without delay, especially on the stretches connecting Hazara Motorway with Peshawar Motorway.
Later, Commissioner Hazara, accompanied by the General Manager of NHA, visited various sections of the motorway. On-site, he instructed officials to complete the ongoing work in accordance with quality standards, eliminate bumps and sinkholes, and ensure all necessary safety measures for the public during the construction process.
He further emphasized that all repair works must be completed within the stipulated time frame and that close coordination with the Motorway Police should be maintained for effective management of the operations.
The Commissioner also directed that the Motorway Police be allowed to check overloaded vehicles in accordance with the law, noting that such vehicles cause severe damage to the roads.
