KARACHI, Nov 03 (APP):Pakistan Rangers Sindh have arrested three suspects allegedly linked to a militant network during an intelligence-based operation in Kunwari Colony, Manghopir Road.
According to a Rangers spokesperson on Monday, the arrested suspects identified as Zaidullah alias Zaido, Noor Zada and Hazrat Usman are believed to be close associates of Shams-ul-Qayyum alias Zawail alias Zafran, a key figure in the extremist group.
During initial interrogation, the suspects reportedly confessed to providing contact numbers of local residents to their handler, who would then make extortion calls.
The spokesperson said the accused also admitted to collecting extortion money from drug dealers in Kunwari Colony and being involved in land grabbing activities.
Authorities further stated that Noor Zada’s brother, Khan Zada alias Hanzala, and Hazrat Usman’s brother, Omar Khattab, were also wanted members of the same network and had been killed earlier. Zaidullah, meanwhile, was already wanted by the Excise Police Korangi and the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF).
The arrested men have been handed over to police for further legal proceedings.
