Ramzan preparations reviewed; DC directs crackdown against hoarding, price violations

KOHAT, Feb 24 (APP):On the directives of Deputy Commissioner,  Muhammad Nawaz, a high-level review meeting on Tuesday was held to finalize preparations for holy month of Ramzan and ensure maximum relief for the public.
The meeting was chaired by the Deputy Commissioner and attended by officers of the district administration, Livestock Department, Food Department, and other relevant institutions.
The participants reviewed arrangements for the uninterrupted availability of essential
commodities, strict enforcement of official price lists, and measures to curb artificial inflation.
The deputy commissioner ordered the establishment of monitoring desks, complaint cells, and price-checking teams across all markets, directing that the teams to remain fully active throughout the holy month.
 He also instructed authorities to launch a mega crackdown against hoarders to protect citizens from unjustified price hikes.
In line with the directives, Assistant Commissioner Kohat, Madam Nida Iqbal, along with relevant officials, conducted field visits to various localities.
Using the modern mobile testing laboratory, the team examined milk samples on the spot.
 Legal action has been taken against shopkeepers found involved in adulteration, particularly where water was mixed in milk.
The district administration reaffirmed that operations would continue to ensure the supply of pure and quality food items to the public.
