Ramazan ‘Sahulat Bazaars’ to ease burden on consumers

KASUR, Mar 4 (APP):In a move aimed at providing relief during the holy month of Ramazan, the Punjab government has established special “Sahulat Bazaars” across the province, including in Kasur district, to offer subsidized essential food items to the public.
At a bustling Sahulat Bazaar in Kasur — the historic city known for the shrine of the revered Sufi poet Bulleh Shah — shoppers were seen purchasing flour, sugar, cooking oil, fruits, vegetables and pulses at discounted rates.
The officials source said the initiative had been launched on the special instructions of Punjab Chief Minister, Maryam Nawaz, with similar markets set up throughout the province to help residents cope with rising expenses during the holy month.
Umar Faraz, in-charge,  Sahulat Bazaar, along with Supervisor ,Abdul Razzaq Naqash, told APP that subsidies were being provided on key commodities including flour, sugar and ghee.
They added that complaint cells had also been established at the markets to address public grievances on the spot.
