HYDERABAD, Oct 25 (APP):The District Administration of Matiari, in collaboration with the District Health Management Team (DHMT) and the District Emergency Operation Center (DEOC) Matiari, organized an awareness rally and event to mark World Polio day.
The purpose of the event was to renew Matiari District’s commitment to the complete eradication of polio and to raise public awareness. The rally started from the District Health Office Matiari and concluded at the Press Club Matiari, where participants raised the slogan “Our Pledge – Polio-Free Sindh,” expressing their commitment to a healthy society.
A large number of officials from the Health Department Matiari, medical officers, paramedical staff, community health workers, and school students participated in the event. Participants held banners and placards carrying motivational messages about the eradication of polio.
Addressing the event, speakers emphasized that continuous vaccination campaigns, public awareness, and coordinated efforts among concerned institutions are essential for polio prevention. They especially appreciated the participation of students and youth, describing them as vital agents of social change.
