FAISALABAD, Jul 25 (APP):An exhibition of Quran calligraphy was held in reference with Muharram-ul-Haram by Punjab Council of the Arts here on Thursday.
The work of more than 30 well-known calligraphers from across the division was displayed in the exhibition which was inaugurated by Commissioner Silwat Saeed.
The commissioner took keen interest in the art work and said that Quranic calligraphy was a valuable heritage of the Muslim ummah as it provided spiritual satisfaction. She said that calligraphy is the best way to highlight the greatness of the Holy Quran adding that such types of exhibitions encouraged the young calligraphers.
She said that the samples of Quranic calligraphy decorated with different scripts and colors is a means of promotion and development of art and it is very important for the new generation to be aware of Qur’anic calligraphy.
