PESHAWAR, Aug 13 (APP):Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Wildlife Department while taking notice of enormous decline in population of quails, has forthwith stopped issuing of licenses for trapping or permit of netting of quails in the province.
According to an office order issued by Chief Conservator Wildlife KP, Dr. Mohsin Farooq on August 13, 2024, all the Conservators in the province are directed to stop issuing licenses and permits for quail hunting till the population of the bird is improved and best conservation practices are ensured.
The office order has been issued after verification from various field sources regarding quail population in the province.
The conservators are also directed to instruct all the Divisional Forest Officers (DFOs) to adopt best practices and ensure complete watch over ban on trapping and dealing of quails in their respective jurisdiction.
