MULTAN, Nov 08 (APP): The All Pakistan HEC Inter-University Women’s Squash Tournament concluded at Bahauddin Zakariya University (BZU) Multan with Quaid-i-Azam University clinching first position after defeating Punjab University in a thrilling team final. Islamia University Bahawalpur secured third place.
A total of 15 universities participated in the event, including Punjab University, Quaid-i-Azam University, LUMS, Superior University, University of Management and Technology (UMT), and Islamia University Bahawalpur.
In individual contests, Hira Aqeel of Sarhad University claimed first position by defeating Farwa of UMT, while her sister Nimra Aqeel, representing Quaid-i-Azam University, bagged third place. Interestingly, both top medals went to the same family.
Vice Chancellor Dr. Zubair Iqbal distributed trophies, medals, and cash prizes among the winning teams and players at the closing ceremony.
Director Sports Prof. Dr. Tahir Mahmood and Assistant Directress Sports Ms. Abida Khan were also present. The Vice Chancellor congratulated Prof. Dr. Tahir Mahmood and Ms. Abida Khan for successfully organizing the national-level event.
