LAHORE, Dec 15 (APP): Punjab Women Protection Authority (PWPA) Chairperson Hina Parvez Butt visited the family of two real sisters who were subjected to a tragic incident of gang rape in Lahore and met the affected sisters.
Expressing deep sympathy with the victims and their family, the PWPA chairperson assured them of complete legal, medical, psychological and security support. She said that gang rape is an extremely heinous, brutal and unforgivable crime, and those involved do not deserve any leniency.
Hina Parvez informed that the main accused had been arrested, while investigations were underway in a transparent, impartial and comprehensive manner in line with the law.
She made it clear that violence against women and girls is a red line for the Punjab government and that those responsible for such barbaric acts will be brought to justice at all costs.
The chairperson said that the authority is providing immediate medical assistance, professional psychological counselling and legal aid to the affected sisters, while security arrangements have also been ensured to protect the family from pressure and harassment. She also urged the public to immediately report any crime against women to ensure prompt action.
