LAHORE, Feb 05 (APP): The Punjab Sports Board organised a rally on Thursday to express solidarity with the Kashmiri people on the Kashmir Solidarity Day.
The rally was led by Secretary Sports and Youth Affairs Punjab Muhammad Ali and Director General Sports Punjab Khizar Afzaal Chaudhry. Hundreds of players, officials and employees of the Punjab Sports Department participated in the rally, which was taken out from the National Hockey Stadium to Gaddafi Stadium. The participants chanted slogans of “Kashmir Banega Pakistan” to reaffirm their support for the Kashmiri cause.
Talking to the media on the occasion, Secretary Sports and Youth Affairs Punjab Muhammad Ali said that Kashmir is the lifeline of Pakistan and that the entire nation stands with its Kashmiri brothers. He said that the Punjab Sports Department has organized various sports events across the province to express solidarity with the Kashmiri people.
Director General Sports Punjab Khizar Afzaal Chaudhry said that hockey, football and taekwondo competitions are being held throughout Punjab in connection with Kashmir Solidarity Day. He added that Kashmir is an integral part of Pakistan and that, besides sports events, a large rally has also been organized to demonstrate unity with the Kashmiri brothers.
Meanwhile, the Punjab Sports Department also arranged sports competitions on the occasion. Secretary Sports and Youth Affairs Punjab Muhammad Ali attended a special hockey match as the chief guest, while DG Sports Punjab Khizar Afzaal Chaudhry was also present.
Both officials watched the hockey match and were introduced to the participating players. The match was played between Pakistan XI and Kashmir XI, in which Kashmir XI defeated Pakistan XI by 3-1.
The events concluded with renewed resolve by participants to continue raising their voice in support of the Kashmiri people and their right to self-determination.
