LAHORE, Jun 22 (APP): Punjab Police continues its robust campaign to ensure efficient public service delivery and strict enforcement of traffic laws across the province.
In the last 24 hours alone, 26,489 citizens were issued driving licenses, reflecting the department’s commitment to timely and accessible services.
According to the Punjab Police spokesperson, a total of 40,593 challans were issued for various violations of traffic rules, generating fines worth Rs. 24 million. In addition, 600 smoke-emitting vehicles were fined for environmental violations, and 91 of these were impounded at respective police stations.
Inspector General of Punjab Police Dr. Usman Anwar stressed the need to continue strict actions against those violating traffic laws and called for effective recovery of outstanding traffic fines from defaulters. He reiterated the department’s resolve to promote safe driving practices and ensure cleaner, safer roads across Punjab.
