Punjab Police commended for maintaining peace, security on Eid

LAHORE, Jun 09 (APP): Inspector General of Police (IGP) Punjab Dr Usman Anwar lauded the police force for exemplary security arrangements during Eid-ul-Azha, ensuring a peaceful and safe environment across the province.
According to IGP Punjab, senior police officials including the capital city police officer (CCPO) Lahore, regional police officers (RPOs), district police officers (DPOs) and traffic officers remained actively present in the field throughout the Eid holidays.
He added that the Punjab Safe Cities Authority (PSCA) played a key role in keeping Lahore and other cities clean and free of animal waste through efficient monitoring and surveillance systems.
“The combination of effective patrolling, continuous monitoring and integrated security measures contributed to a peaceful Eid-ul-Adha,” said Dr. Usman Anwar.
Law enforcement operations continued against individuals involved in illegal activities such as one-wheeling and aerial firing. A Punjab Police spokesperson reported that 32 offenders were arrested and 25 cases registered across the province for one-wheeling. Additionally, seven individuals involved in aerial firing were apprehended, with illegal weapons recovered and cases filed.
In separate actions, four suspects were arrested for instilling fear among citizens through public display of weapons, while seven others were taken into custody for violating the Loudspeaker Act, with legal proceedings initiated in each case.
Furthermore, 14 cases were registered against individuals collecting animal hides illegally during Eid-ul-Adha. Dr. Usman Anwar, lauded the police force for exemplary security arrangements during Eid-ul-Adha, ensuring a peaceful and safe environment across the province.
