LAHORE, Dec 01 (APP):The Office of the Ombudsman Punjab on Monday organized a virtual international training session in collaboration with the Federal Ombudsman Institution of Belgium to acquaint its officers and staff with global best practices and complaint-handling procedures adopted in Belgium.
According to a press release issued the session provided a structured platform for an exchange of ideas between the Belgian ombudsman office and participants from the Ombudsman Punjab.
Deputy Director(DD)(I&C) Noor-ul-Ain Zafar represented the Ombudsman Punjab,while advisors and officers from various wings attended the session.
Greet van Gool,Director at the Belgium Ombudsman Institution,delivered a comprehensive briefing on the organization’s mandate, complaint registration and investigation methods,decision-making processes,citizen engagement strategies and implementation mechanisms.
She also outlined key features of the legal framework governing the Belgium Ombudsman Institution.
The training initiative was expected to enhance institutional efficiency,reinforce transparency and better align the Ombudsman Punjab with international standards.
The Ombudsman Punjab office reiterated that such collaborations with global institutions were central to its efforts to strengthen public service delivery across the province.
