Punjab govt earmarks huge funds for minorities: Ramesh Singh Arora

MULTAN, Jul 22 (APP): Provincial Minister for Minorities Affairs Ramesh Singh Arora said on Monday Punjab government increased minority funds by 200% in the recent budget.
He said this while attending a reception at the local Church in Razabad. The government allocated a 5% job quota as well as 2% university admission quota for minorities. The Minister also shared some practical steps being taken to realize Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz’s vision of a “Minority-Friendly Punjab.”
Remarkable funds have been allocated for the development of minority communities in South Punjab.
The Punjab government is issuing special grants for Christmas, Easter, Holi, and Diwali celebrations.
Promoting tolerance and love is essential to ensuring the protection of minority rights, he remarked.
Providing a peaceful environment for religious practices and celebrations of all communities, including Hindu, Sikh, and Christians is top priority of the government.
The event was also attended by Pastor Ansib John, Pastor Shaukat Ashiq, Pastor Samar Shakeel, and Mubashir Khawar Gill.
