LAHORE, Feb 06 (APP): Punjab Minister for Information and Culture Azma Bokhari on Friday announced that, on the directions of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif, all Basant-related events scheduled for Saturday have been cancelled after Islamabad tragic incident. She said the show planned at Liberty Chowk has also been called off.
In a statement, Azma Bokhari said the Punjab government stands in solidarity with the families of the martyrs, sharing their grief and pain, and will extend all possible support to them during this difficult time.
She said that hostile elements have always attempted to undermine Pakistan’s positive image on the global stage, but emphasized that the government and the people remain united to foil such negative designs.
The provincial minister said that terrorists were confronted with resolve in the past and would continue to be dealt with firmly in the future. She stressed that the nation’s morale was high before and remains high today, adding that the people of Pakistan would neither bow to terrorism nor surrender in the face of any challenge.
