LAHORE, Nov 06 (APP): Special Assistant to the Bangladeshi Minister of State for Finance Anisuzman Chaudhry called on Governor Punjab Sardar Saleem Haider Khan at the Governor’s House on Thursday to discuss avenues for strengthening bilateral ties in agriculture, tourism, education, and trade.
The meeting focused on enhancing cooperation between Pakistan and Bangladesh across multiple sectors. Bangladesh High Commissioner to Pakistan Muhammad Iqbal Hussain Khan and Press Counselor Muhammad Tayyab Ali also attended the meeting.
Speaking on the occasion, Governor Sardar Saleem Haider Khan said that Pakistan and Bangladesh share deep historical, cultural, and religious ties, stressing the need to further expand cooperation in diverse fields.
He noted that Bangladesh could benefit from investment opportunities in Pakistan’s growing sectors, particularly tourism, culture, dairy, and poultry industries. Strengthened collaboration, he said, could elevate trade relations by increasing imports and exports between the two countries.
The Governor also underscored the importance of enhancing educational exchanges through the Pakistan-Bangladesh Knowledge Corridor, including increased scholarships for Bangladeshi students.
Calling for greater people-to-people contact, he expressed optimism that direct passenger flights between Pakistan and Bangladesh would begin soon, further deepening bilateral engagement and mutual understanding.
