BAHAWALPUR, Oct 27 (APP):A special event was organized by the Punjab Council of the Arts, Bahawalpur Division, to observe Kashmir Black Day and raise awareness about the ongoing struggle of the Kashmiri people.
Addressing the gathering, Director of the Punjab Council of the Arts Bahawalpur Division, Mian Ateeq Ahmad, emphasized that Kashmir is not merely a territorial dispute but a profound human tragedy. He reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering support for the Kashmiri people, stating that the nation stands firmly with its Kashmiri brothers and sisters, offering both moral and political backing on every international platform.
The Guest of Honour, renowned educationist Rabia Sadaf, highlighted the harsh reality in Kashmir, noting that Indian forces have imposed one of the worst lockdowns in history under the guise of a curfew in the occupied region. She expressed hope that the day is not far when Kashmir will witness the dawn of freedom.
Malik Allah Bakhsh Kulyar, a Member of the Council of Islamic Ideology Pakistan, addressed the crowd, recalling how Indian troops unlawfully occupied Kashmir on October 27, 1947. Despite this, he stressed that the spirit of freedom among Kashmiris remains unbroken. He called on the global community to take action to end the ongoing atrocities in the region.
The event was attended by artists, students, poets, civil society members, and citizens. It included a photo exhibition showcasing the Kashmir cause, along with performances by students, including skits, tableaus, puppet shows, and a documentary highlighting the plight of the Kashmiri people. The program concluded with a solidarity walk, expressing unwavering support for the Kashmiri struggle for freedom.
